Claustrofobia

Catalan group formed by Pedro Burruezo (guitar and voice), Maria Jose Peña (keyboards) and Antoni Baltar (perscussion, programming and synthesizer). Pioneers in the "mestizaje", Claustrophobia was a group able to give an air of Leonard Cohen to a Spanish copla. In 1983 his song "Fiesta en la Noche" was included in the compilation 'Barcelona Ciudad Abierta', but it was not until 1984 that they recorded their first album for Wilde Records, entitled 'Arrebato', with the songs "La Espia que me Amó", "Sueños de Donna", "Sombras en la Alcoba", "Amor Sensible", "Rapsodia Bajo el Volga", "Paris Nostalgic (Tango)" and "Lagrimas por un Bolero". Their second foray into the record market was with 'El Silencio', in 1986, followed by 'Repulsión', this time for Justine Records in 1987. His fourth album had a change of record label, this time Nuevos Medios, with which they released in 1989 their fourth full length, an album titled 'Un Chien Andaluz'. Claustrofobia's record career would end with his fifth and final work, 'Encadenados' in 1992, although they later released a compilation entitled 'Les TresOrs 1982-1999'. In 2006, Discos de Paseo with Los Discos del Arrabal, published a compilation consisting of a double CD entitled 'Fiesta en la Noche. Grabaciones y Conciertos 1982-1984'. Pedro Burruezo was also immersed in a minimalist project called Burruezo & Bohemia Camerata. [SOURCE: GRUPOS NACIONALES NUEVA OLA 80
