Aimless Device

Aimless Device was a group from Leuven (Belgium) that linked rock guitars to drum machines and synthesizers between 1985 and 1989. The result was a sound compared with bonafide rock groups as well as The Psychedelic Furs, Magazine or The Stranglers and with synth-pop acts such as Fad Gadget. A first mini-LP, 'Hard To Be Nice' (1985), immediately ensured a modest reputation at home and abroad, and after the release of 'World Of Coats' (1986) and 'Dog Days' (1987) tours followed in France, Germany and Spain.

In 1988 the duo of vocalist Bart Azijn and guitarist Patric M was joined by Ferre Baelen (ex-TC Matic) for a final EP, 'Mud In Your Eye'. It would be their swan song, because the group was suddenly without a contract due to the disappearance of label Anything But Records. Patric M later resurfaced in De Legende, the new group of Aroma di Amore singer Elvis Peeters and keyboard player Geert Corbeels (ex-Men 2nd). Together with Bart Azijn we find Corbeels in Weird Uncle, a light-sarcastic electropop duo. In June 2010, the compilation CD 'Coats Of Many Colors' is published by Onderstroom Records.
